Nigerian SARS Reform update

SARS has been reformed and the new rules of engagements are: 1. No SARS personnel is allowed to interface in any civil matter. 2. They are not allowed to interfere in cyber crime (yahoo yahoo). 3. No SARS personnel is allowed to conduct a stop and search exercise unless there is a distress call from victims or members of the public. 4. They are not allowed to be involved in commercial matters (debt recovery, landlord vs Tennant issues).* 5. They are not allowed to interfere in any social /relationship cases ( marital matters, boyfriend / girlfriend relationship). 6. THEY ARE STRICTLY FOR ARMED ROBBERY AND KIDNAPPING CASES! Number tag of a real policeman must be six digits, less than six is fake 2. Only female police officers have their numbers begin with "0", any policeman with number beginning with "0" is fake. 3. Lagos State Police Personnel's Spreading Bullet Across The Lekki toll Gate Now:Membis247Blog

Four protesters were detained by members of the Lagos State Police Command on Thursday at the Lekki tollgate in Lagos. The young people had gathered at the Lekki tollgate to commemorate the second national #EndSARS protest memorial. Youths from all around the nation protested in the streets in October 2020 to call for an end to extrajudicial killings by the defunct elite anti-robbery squad and police abuse (SARS). The tollgate was the epicentre of the protests. Youths who gathered day and night at the tollgate were dispersed from the location by gun-wielding soldiers on October 20, 2020, an action which led to the loss of lives. Meanwhile, the security operatives also assaulted journalists covering the event. One of the protesters who spoke to SaharaReporters said, “The police have arrested four people despite the fact that everything is being done peacefully here. They are using tear gas and hot water to disperse peaceful protesters. Journalists were also assaulted,” he said.
