Return PDP mandate, Wike tells Umahi
Governor Nyesom Wike on Saturday charged embattled Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, to return the mandate he got on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Wike at the inauguration of the Eastern Bypass Road project in Port Harcourt, said it was unfortunate that instead of appealing judgment of the court which sacked him, Umahi made a reckless attack against the judge.
“Look at a governor making a reckless statement simply because a judge made a judgement according to his own opinion, which you are entitled to appeal up to Supreme Court."
“You have called somebody a thief in the market and you’re saying I’m sorry, It is late. That your sorry, we the members of the public, we don’t take it”, the Rivers governor stated.
Ogun APC inaugurates executive
Ahead of 2023 general election,the Ogun chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) inaugurated its 20- member state executive committee.
Chief Yemi Sanusi, Ogun Chairman of APC while inaugurating the new members of the state executive appreciated the support given to them by Governor Dapo Abiodun.
He advised the new executive members to be ready to wear the leadership gown and work very hard to lift the party to victory in 2023
Sanusi urged them to shun factionalism while demonstrating leadership, maturity and tolerance to carry everybody along so as to build a united party that can face the challenges ahead.
“This is a call to service, we must be very serious, we know the situation of the party in Ogun State and we must be ready to carry everybody along so that we can have a united front that can confront the General election in 2023”.
Kebbi: Hisbah confiscates over 200 cartons of liquor, apprehends owner
Operatives of the Kebbi State Hisbah Board confiscated more than two hundred cartons of different brands of alcohol in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.
The Board’s Commandant, Alhaji Suleiman Mohammed, who disclosed this to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday, said the Board has also apprehended the owner.
He said his operatives, who acted on a tip-off, swooped on a particular location around the old market area in Birnin Kebbi metropolis where they impounded a vehicle laden with the banned products which was about to be offloaded for sale to the general public.
The Commandant pledged that the Board will continue to enforce laws of the state that prohibit the sales and consumption of alcohol in all parts of the state with the exception of barracks and similar outposts.
We’re not aware of case involving transport of stolen baby by dispatch rider in Lagos: Police
The Lagos Police Command says it’s not aware of any case involving the theft and transport of a baby by a dispatch rider in Sangotedo area of the state.
In a viral video circulating on social media, a dispatch rider was accused of stealing a baby and trying to transport the child as a parcel.
In a statement to journalists on Saturday, Police Public Relations Officer for the command, Adekunle Ajisebutu, said the matter has not been reported at any police station in the state.
The statement reads: “Attention of the Lagos State Police Command has been drawn to a video going viral on social media alleging that a yet-to-be-identified dispatch rider stole a child found and recovered in a dispatch box.
“The command wishes to inform the public that the incident said to have taken place in Sangotedo area, Lekki, was not reported at any police station to enable the police take appropriate actions.
