The Ministry of Foreign Affair of Kenya has issued a statement on its website annoucing the death of Wilfred Machage, High Commissioner of Kenya to Nigeria. “Machage was appointed High Commissioner of Kenya to Nigeria by President Uhuru Kenyatta in January 2018 and accredited to 12 other countries within Central and Western Africa. “He collapsed at home and was pronounced dead at the hospital after this unfortunate incident,” Kenya said. “The country has lost a dedicated compatriot.” The incident came as Nnamdi Kanu’s family and UK and Kenya lawyers were preparing to make Mr Machage testify in the Biafra separatist leader’s abduction case in Nairobi. Mr Machage had in July 2021 insisted that Kenya did not play any role in Mr Kanu’s abduction. But growing evidence compiled by Mr Kanu’s family and attorneys has pointed to Kenyan government’s involvement in abducting Mr Kanu around mid-June 2021 before forcibly repatriating him to Nigeria. Some moments ago, the family member of a 22 year-old girl who was murdered for money ritual spoke with the press concerning what led to their daughter's death. According to a sister to the deceased named Comfort, 22 year-old Ife visited a lady who promised to settle the dispute between her and her boyfriend. She never knew that this lady, who disguised as a friend to her boyfriend, had already connived with the said boyfriend to kill her for money ritual. The governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has reacted to the results of the Kuje Area, Abuja council chairmanship election where a member of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Suleman Sabo was declared winner of the February 12 election. Reacting to the outcome of the polls, the governor said the election in the Federal Capital Territory is a barometer of the mood of the nation and a precursor to the 2023 election. He further stated that a stronger and united People's Democratic Party is on the rise and that Nigerians are tired of the All Progressive Congress due to its governance.
