It was a remarkable memory because of the events that have happened in Nigerian politics, especially in the APC, the ruling party. This incident should be remembered, especially now that the next general elections are fast approaching.
It was all about the former APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomole, who was the head of affairs during and after the 2019 general elections. Oshiomole led his party to victory, and after the election, issues began to manifest, like the imposition of candidates in the primary election. The former Edo state governor was also accused of taking kickbacks from the party members to whom he gave party tickets in various states.
The former NLC boss became more popular during the time of the formation of the leadership of the National Assembly. The emergence of Saraki brought about unending controversies in the ruling party, which Oshiomole superheaded. He vowed to recover the mandate of the APC, saying that the party must be in charge of the Senate. The battle was severe because of Saraki's decision to decamp to the opposition party, the PDP. The Edo-born politician declared war on Saraki, saying that he could never run away with the crown. At this stage, Saraki fought back by reminding him that the leadership of the national Assembly was not a throne issue but a democratic regime. Saraki accused him of an attempt to overthrow the leadership of the Senate by force instead of due process. Oshiomole was accused of inviting the DSS to help remove Saraki as the president of the Senate. This was when the DSS invaded the National Assembly complex with an unknown mission. They were armed to the teeth with face masks.

After that, his troubles continued. This was when he was suspended by the Edo state APC and was later removed by the court order, which he referred to as a joke. Finally, Oshiomole was replaced by another APC chieftain. He later gave up the fight after he saw that the game was against him. Since he left office, he has remained adamant about politics and has never supported or rejected any APC policies, or spoken against the killings going on in the north.
picture.credit.punchnews.ng.What do you think about this? Don't you think that Oshiomole is out of politics? What might be the reason for his silence? Is it not why they say that power is transient?
