The suspects will have to stay in prison because the Magistrate, I. O Abudu, had to adjourn the case till March 14th, 2022. I. During the court proceedings on Thursday, the charges that were levelled against the four suspects were made known to them however, I. O Abudu did not allow the suspects to make a plea. I. O Abudu decided to seek legal advice from the Ogun State Directorate of Public Prosecutions before any further steps can be taken in the case. Until the resumption of the case in March, the suspects has to remain in custody because the court did not grant them bail.
The need to remand the suspects in prison was because as long as the suspects still have a case to answer and the court did not grant them bail, they have to stay in prison until the next date of the case so that the authorities will be able to provide the suspects in court when the case resumes on the 14th day of March 2022.
