The arraignment took place at an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court sitting at Isabo, Ogun State, on Thursday. After the arraignment, the four suspects will have to stay in prison for the next five weeks before the resumption of the case on March 14th, 2022.

The suspects will have to stay in prison because the Magistrate, I. O Abudu, had to adjourn the case till March 14th, 2022. I. O Abudu decided to adjourn the case because the Magistrate court has to wait for legal advice from the Ogun State Directorate of Public Prosecutions. The suspects will have to spend 5 weeks in the Oba Custodial Centre pending legal advice from the Ogun State Directorate of Public Prosecutions which is expected to arrive before the end of the five weeks.

During the court proceedings on Thursday, the charges that were levelled against the four suspects were made known to them however, I. O Abudu did not allow the suspects to make a plea. I. O Abudu decided to seek legal advice from the Ogun State Directorate of Public Prosecutions before any further steps can be taken in the case. Until the resumption of the case in March, the suspects has to remain in custody because the court did not grant them bail.

The need to remand the suspects in prison was because as long as the suspects still have a case to answer and the court did not grant them bail, they have to stay in prison until the next date of the case so that the authorities will be able to provide the suspects in court when the case resumes on the 14th day of March 2022.

Why Women Contract HIV More Than Men Finally Explained wanisheik Aug 27, 2021 Over the years, females all over the world have contracted HIV more than their male counterparts. But that wasn' t what we were made to believe in the past. There used to be a perception that men were at a higher risk of contracting the virus than women. As of mid- 1996, the Joint UN Program on AIDS evaluated that out of the twenty- five million adults infected with HIV, over ten million are women. The percentage of women who test positive for HIV has been on the rise, with nearly half of the 7500 new cases recorded daily found among them. Also, most cases of the virus detected in women are in developing countries. The Ghana Aids Commission states that of the 342, 307 people living with HIV in Ghana, 122, 231 are males whereas 219, 986 are females. This means that the number of women living with the virus in Ghana is almost twice that of the number of men living with it. A study conducted by Pubmed in Kis...
